Two Xoloitzcuintle Puppies (Colima Dogs)

Angelica and Gustavo Balcells Martinez found two starving Xoloitzcuintle puppies abandoned in the street in El Naranjo (that's pronounced "show-low-eats-queen-tlee"). Xolos, as they are sometimes called, are the prehispanic "Colima Dog." The name literally means "naked dog," or "dog without hair." Please see my article for more information about this great Mexican dog.
Angelica and Gustavo adopted the boy, but couldn't take the girl. Knowing I have been lucky finding homes for numerous dogs and cats, they brought her to Scuba Shack. "Squiggly," as we named her, was amazingly healthy, but thin.
After a week at the Scuba Shack, Squiggly was housebroken, leash trained, and so loving that I was sure I'd be able to find her a good home. I took her to Dr. Gaby for her shots and parasite medicine, and left a poster that said "ADOPT ME!" with photos.
The next day we received a call from Krishna Olvera Rosales of Las Brisas, who was interested in seeing Squiggly. She and her girlfriend came over and it was love at first sight. Now Squiggly has a new home where she'll be top Colima Dog, with plenty of food and a nice yard to play in.
