History of ARA de ManzanilloIn 2005, a handful of people concerned with the homeless pet population of Manzanillo, began to meet regularly sharing ideas on how we could improve public health while at the same time reducing the suffering of the street dogs and cats we found in all the local colonias. Our dream, with the help of local, state and federal governments, is to provide a shelter to house these homeless animals until they can be adopted. In the meantime, our volunteer members feel the best way to begin to reduce Manzanillo’s massive pet overpopulation problem is through sterilization and public education.
